Reporting

Our method of reporting to parents is by using personal learning planning. (PLPs) This document will come home seven times in total during the session.  There are five planning blocks of work, a mid-session review in February and an end of session report in June.  Each time they come home parents can see what learning is planned for their child for the next block of work as well as how they have got on during the previous block of work.  It is intended to be a dialogue between home and school.  There is room on the PLP for parents, children and teachers to comment.  At the end of the year the PLP provides a fairly comprehensive record of the year’s work.

In addition parents are provided with overviews of work planned as well as ‘helping at home’ sheets.

Parents are invited to meet their child’s class teacher at an open evening usually in September.  Formal Parents’ Evenings, when the parents are given an appointment with the class teacher, usually takes place early in the New Year.
